North State Chapter of the Anatomical Society of INDIA
North States Chapter of ASI
A Brief Glimpse
Things happen only when somebody makes an effort.
The idea of bringing anatomists of North Zone together on a platform was started in May 2001. The aim of starting this forum was to share, think, discuss scientific ideas and find solution to common problems of the anatomists. During the first CME and workshop in 2001 at Patiala this forum was named as North Zone Anatomists Association and a resolution was passed to get an affiliation to ASI. As ASI constitution has provision only for individual state chapters, the North Zone or North Chapter was not allowed first. Hence NIAF (North Indian Anatomists Federation) came into existence. In 2005, the ASI approved the affiliation in the name of NORTH STATES CHAPTER OF ASI. This organization includes Anatomist from Medical and Dental colleges of following states: Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh & Utterkhand.
